Paprika is the Hungarian word for dried, ground, red bell peppers, and it is Hungary that we primarily associate with Paprika, as it is the essential ingredient for goulash.
Paprika is used as an ingredient in a broad variety of dishes throughout the world and is principally used to season and colour rice, stews, and soups. It can also be used with a little olive oil as a rub for roast pork or chicken. Use later in the cooking process as it burns easily.
