Another easy one for the kids, with our organic Herbes de Provence
Cheesy Swirls with Bacon and Herbe de Provence
From Lynn in High Wycombe
Cooking time 15 Minutes
Oven 180ºc
Ingredients
Packet of bread mix (try cheese & onion)
Softened butter to coat the dough
Grated cheese – enough to generously cover the dough
2 Rashers streaky bacon
1 egg beaten
Herbe de Provence to taste
Method:
1. Set oven at 180ºc.
2. Make the bread mix according to the instructions on the packet and knead well.
3. Roll out the dough to a rectangle shape
4. Spread the dough lightly with the butter then sprinkle with herbs
5. Cover with grated cheese & finely chopped bacon pieces.
6. Starting with the long edge, roll the pastry into a long sausage shape.
7. Cut into circular rings approx 2cm deep.
8. Cover with cling film and leave in a warm place to rise for 20 minutes.
9. Brush with beaten egg and cook in oven for about 15 minutes until well risen and golden.
